Mom’s do it all! From working, driving their kids to and from school, running them to soccer practice, play dates, sleepovers, whatever it is, moms are always on the go. And sometimes the last thing you want to do when you get home, is prepare a full-blown meal for the family. What if we told you, you could whip up a tasty meal your family will love in the fraction of the time? Well, you can when you switch to air frying!

Air frying is a big game changer for many reasons. In most cases, it cuts your cooking time in half, giving you more time to spend with your family. It is just one machine that has an easy clean up when you use warm water, soap and a non-abrasive sponge. Utilizing parchment paper in the basket also helps with the cleanup. The process of air frying is easy, you just whip everything up, throw it in your air fryer, set the time and temperature and wait for your delicious food to be done! The possibilities are endless as to what you can air fry, too! With our best seller, the 5.8 Quart Digital Air Fryer it has 8 presets you can enjoy from Fries, Chicken, Pizza, Cake and more! There are unlimited options as to what you can make in the air fryer, but the benefits are unlimited too! No oil is needed for cooking anything in this versatile machine and that alone is providing healthier food options. Excess fat drips underneath the basket, avoiding any greasy or fatty foods. Air Fryers do not need to be preheated either, so you’re saving time waiting for your appliance to heat up, like you would with a traditional oven. All parts of an air fryer are removable providing for an easier cleanup. Using parchment paper helps with the cleanup, leaving minimal mess. Now that you know more about air frying and have heard some of the benefits, it’s time for more helpful tips and recipes!

Tips for Air Frying

Find the right place for you air fryer in your kitchen. Find an easy to get to spot that you can get to easily multiple times a day. Set your air fryer on a level, heat-resistant counter top.

Heat-resistant mats are your best friend. Take advantage of a silicone mat or cutting board to set underneath your air fryer to protect your air fryer and counter top from heat damage.

Parchment Paper. Investing in parchment paper is a great idea, because it will provide an easier clean up afterwards! Your food won’t stick to the air fryer basket and the parchment paper will suck up some of the grease. It also helps protect your air fryer from any wear and tear.

Accessories to the rescue! Once you get the hang of air frying you may want to invest in some much-needed accessories. Look for accessory sets sold through the company you bought your air fryer. We offer a 6-piece Accessory Kit for our smaller and larger air fryers that include a Cake Pan, Pizza Pan, Multi-Purpose Rack, Metal Holder, Toasting Rack and Rubber Mat. If not, any baking dishes or cake pans that you have in your kitchen will do just fine. Just make sure they are oven safe!

Invest in a kitchen spray bottle. We recommend staying away from oil sprays from the store, because sometimes there are aerosol agents in them and that can break down the non-stick surface of your air fryer basket. And spraying is easier than drizzling or brushing oil on.

Don’t overcrowd your basket. We all want to fill our food to the top of the air fryer basket in to ensure faster cooking. As tempting as it is, try to resist it. Over filling and crowding the basket can prevent food from crisping and browning unevenly.

Flip food over and shake the basket halfway through cooking time. This is a vital step in any recipe you make in the air fryer. Flipping them halfway goes a long way, because it will make certain that your foods brown evenly.

Correct breading goes a long way. The great thing about air fryers is all the fried food you can make without the added calories. So, knowing how to correctly bread your food is crucial. You will want to start with coating foods with flour first, then egg and then the breadcrumbs. Depending on your recipe, it may be a good idea to coat them in each mixture twice. Freezing your food before or after coating them ensures the coating will actually stay on during the air frying process.

Reheating your Food. Reheating in the air fryer will keep your food tasting even better the second day. It won’t give off that stale taste, and mushy texture we all hate! Usually a quick 5-minute air fry at 300°F will bring your leftovers back to life.

Cleaning Tip. Cleaning your air fryer and its basket the correct way is so important in order for you to keep it in tip top condition. Be sure to clean it with a non-abrasive sponge, soap and warm water. Using a non-abrasive sponge will ensure it doesn’t cause wear and tear to your basket and won’t peel or scratch the non-stick coating off. Another helpful tip is using silicon utensils that won’t scratch the basket.

Air Fryer Bagel Bites

These bite-sized treats are the perfect breakfast option for those of you on the go. Remember not to use all-purpose flour, because it will not work to create that dough consistency. Feel free to use flavored yogurt if you’re looking for more flavor, such as blueberry yogurt. Adding cinnamon and sugar is optional to make it sweet, but don’t hesitate to skip that step if you aren’t fond of those ingredients. Using a pastry bag for filling the bagels with cream cheese is ideal, so that you can easily fit as much cream cheese as possible on the inside without tearing the bagel. The possibilities are endless as to what you can pair these bagels with, such as cream cheese, jelly, apple butter, Nutella and more!

Ingredients:

1 cup self-rising flour

1 cup Greek yogurt

½ cup cream cheese, whipped

2 tbsp cinnamon

2 tbsp sugar

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt, until it forms into a dough consistency.

Wipe the inside of the air fryer basket with oil or line the basket with perforated parchment paper (optional).

Form the dough into equal sized balls and place in the air fryer basket with a little bit of space between each one. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top.

Air fry at 325°F for 5 minutes. Flip them over and air fry an additional 4-6 minutes. Once they are done cooking, remove from the air fryer and allow to cool.

Once they are cool, use a small knife to poke a hole in the side of each one. Then, fill a pastry bag with whipped cream cheese and squeeze the filling into the hole.

Meatloaf

This tasty dish is the ultimate comfort food! We added a twist to this classic recipe by incorporating chorizo into it. This meatloaf is sure to be juicy, the lick-your-plate kind of juicy. It’s a great meal that is big enough to be served by itself or along with some creamy mashed potatoes and just as good the next day! We combined two different meats, but feel free to do a different combination of meats. Adding in chorizo gives it a smoky depth of flavor that is missing. Using grated onion and bell pepper is what makes this dish so moist. Don’t hesitate to use other veggies too, like carrots, tomatoes or mushrooms! This dish also serves as a gluten free alternative, because we used gluten free breadcrumbs.

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef

4 tbsp pork chorizo, chopped

¾ cup gluten free breadcrumbs

½ bell pepper, diced or shredded

½ onion, diced or shredded

2 eggs, lightly beaten

2 tbsp ketchup

1 tbsp Dijon style mustard

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

3 tbsp grated parmesan cheese

salt and pepper to taste

Meatloaf Glaze:

4 tbsp ketchup

1.5 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tsp Dijon style mustard

Directions:

Mix the ground beef and chopped pork chorizo in a medium-sized mixing bowl.

Then, add in the rest of the meatloaf ingredients and stir to combine. Once everything is mixed, add the meatloaf into a loaf pan. Place the meatloaf in the air fryer and cook at 390°F for about 20 minutes.

While you are waiting for the meatloaf to cook, prepare the glaze. In a small mixing bowl, mix all of the glaze ingredients together and set aside.

When there is 5 minutes left in the cooking cycle, open the air fryer and spread the glaze on top. Continue to cook for the remaining 5 minutes.

When the timer goes off, check the internal temperature of the meat (ground beef should reach 160°F before serving). Remove the meatloaf from the air fryer and let it stand for 10 minutes before serving.

*We made ours in the Air Fryer Oven and were able to make 2 small loaves out of this recipe. Mini bread pans would work well, but we used our Air Fryer Oven baking pan accessory lined with foil.

Fried Banana Smores

Enjoy a little extra indulgence and no extra guilt with this air fried dessert. By air frying it, you are cutting up to 80% of the added fat out, making this the ideal healthier dessert option. Make sure to peel your bananas lengthwise, so that the banana stays together and is able to hold the rest of the ingredients. We went for a more rich and sweet dessert, but feel free to fill the banana with different toppings! Using a spoon to eat this dessert is ideal, so that you can spoon out the filling. Turn this dish into a banana split by adding a big pile of ice cream and some fresh fruit!

Ingredients:

4 bananas

4 tbsp mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

4 tbsp mini peanut butter chips

4 tbsp mini marshmallows

4 tbsp graham cracker cereal

Directions:

Slice into the unpeeled banana lengthwise along the inside of the curve. Open the banana slightly to form a pocket.

Fill each pocket with chocolate chips, peanut butter chips and marshmallows. Poke the graham cracker cereal into the filling.

Place the bananas in the air fryer basket with perforated parchment paper (optional), resting them on each other to keep them upright.

Air fry at 400°F for 6 minutes, or until the bananas are soft to the touch, the peel has blackened, and the chocolate and marshmallows have melted and toasted. Allow your bananas to cool for a few minutes and enjoy!

Apple Turnovers

This is an excellent dessert, because of its flaky texture and sweet apple flavor. We used a pre-made puff pastry, but don’t hesitate to make yours from scratch. You will want to dice the apple very small, so that it is small enough to fit onto your pastry. If you overfill the pastry, use toothpicks to hold it together while air frying. Pressing the turnovers with a fork and brushing the edges with the egg mixture will ensure the turnovers stay closed. Flipping these pastries over halfway through cooking is important, so that they cook evenly and do not burn or get too crispy on one side. Since these are a larger dessert, you may need to cook them in two batches.

Ingredients:

2 apples, peeled, cored and finely diced

2 tbsp granulated sugar, plus extra for sprinkling

pinch of cinnamon

1 egg, lightly beaten

2 sheets puff pastry, thawed

1 tsp powdered sugar

Directions:

In a small mixing bowl, combine the apple, sugar and cinnamon. Mix well so that the apple is fully coated.

Cut both sheets of the puff pastry in quarters so that each sheet has four squares. Spoon the apple mixture onto each square and brush the edges with egg.

Then, fold each square over itself to form a triangle. Press down the edges and seal by pressing with a fork. Brush the tops of each triangle with the egg mixture and sprinkle extra sugar on top.

Place the four triangles in the air fryer basket with perforated parchment paper (optional). Air fry at 350°F for 13 minutes, until golden brown and perfectly puffed, flipping halfway through.

After the apple turnovers are done cooking, take them out of the air fryer and allow to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar on top before serving.

Taco Fried Egg Rolls

These egg rolls are a quick and easy recipe that is perfect for weeknight dinners. Cooking the mixture in the Pressure Cooker first is a good idea, because it will cook faster and still maintain its juicy flavor. You can air fry egg rolls without having to worry about the grease you normally would with deep frying them. Try not to over stuff them to avoid breaking, but if you do, utilize toothpicks to hold them together. Flipping them will ensure even cooking throughout and that your egg rolls don’t burn or get too crispy on one side. Dunk this delicious fried food in dips of your choice, such as salsa, sour cream or guacamole!

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef

16 egg roll wrappers

½ onion, chopped

1 can Cilantro Lime Rotel

½ can refried black beans

½ packet of Taco Seasoning

1 cup Mexican cheese, shredded

½ cup whole kernel corn

1 tbsp olive oil

2 garlic cloves, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tsp chopped cilantro, optional

Directions:

In your Pressure Cooker, spray the inner pot with olive oil cooking spray. Set it on the Saute setting. Add in the garlic and onions, cooking until fragrant.

Then, add in the ground beef, salt, pepper, and taco seasoning. Cook until the meat is browned and in small chunks. Add the Rotel, beans and corn, stirring consistently.

Lay the egg roll wrappers on a flat surface. Dip a cooking brush in water and glaze each of the egg roll wrappers along the edges. This will soften the crust and make it easier to roll.

Load the mixture into each of the wrappers and fold the wrappers diagonally to close. Then, press firmly on the area with the filling and cup it to secure it in place. Fold in the left and right sides as triangles and fold the final layer over the top to close.

Place in the air fryer basket with perforated parchment paper (optional) and spray each egg roll with olive oil cooking spray.

Air fry at 400°F for 8 minutes. Flip the egg rolls after 8 minutes and cook for an additional 4 minutes. Sprinkle with cilantro and serve with the dipping sauces of your choice!

Pork Taquitos

Enjoy the perfect snack for after school, during football season, at a party or even dinner! Using a Pressure Cooker to cook your meat will ensure faster cooking and an easier time shredding the meat. Check out our Shredded Pork recipe that is super easy to make in a Pressure Cooker and can be used for a variety of dishes throughout the week! Adding lime juice to the meat will give it a juicier flavor. We used a pork tenderloin because it is what was available for us to use, but feel free to use the meat of your choice. Spray your taquitos with olive oil cooking spray to prevent from sticking or burning. Make sure you place the taquitos in a single layer in the air fryer basket, so they do not overlap and will evenly cook. Dip this savory fried food in any dipping sauce of your choice, such as Habanero Salsa, Avocado Ranch Dip or Cilantro Lime Sauce!

 Ingredients:

3 cups cooked pork tenderloin, shredded

2 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

10 small flour tortillas

1 lime, juiced

olive oil cooking spray

Salsa, sour creaming for dipping (optional)

Directions:

Sprinkle lime juice over shredded pork and mix.

Microwave 5 tortillas at a time with a damp paper towel over it for 10 seconds to soften. Then, add 3 oz. (about a third cup) of shredded pork and ¼ cup of cheese to a tortilla. Tightly and gently roll up the tortillas. Repeat with remaining tortillas.

Spray or brush the tortillas with olive oil and place in the air fryer basket. We were able to fit 5 in the 5.8 QT Air Fryer. You could fit more, but you will have to make sure you rotate and flip them half way through.

Air fry at 380°F for 7-10 minutes, or until tortillas are a golden color, flipping halfway through.

Serve with your favorite salsa, guacamole and sour cream!
